😎 Flushing Your Plants
Step by Step
Flushing your plants
Prepare Flushing Solution: Use plain, pH-balanced water without any added nutrients or supplements. Make sure the water is at room temperature.
Begin Flushing: About one to two weeks before harvesting, start flushing your cannabis plants by watering them with the flushing solution. Use enough water to saturate the soil or growing medium thoroughly.
Monitor Drainage: Allow excess water to drain freely from the pots or growing containers. This ensures that any remaining nutrients are flushed out of the root zone.
Repeat Flushing: Continue flushing your plants with plain water for the duration of the flushing period. The duration may vary depending on factors like the plant's age, strain, and growing medium.
Check Runoff: Test the runoff water for pH and electrical conductivity (EC) levels. Once the runoff shows minimal levels of nutrients and the pH is in the appropriate range, your plants are adequately flushed.
Observation: Throughout the flushing process, observe your plants for any signs of nutrient deficiency or stress. Adjust your watering schedule if necessary to maintain plant health.
Harvest: After the flushing period is complete and your plants have been adequately flushed, proceed with harvesting according to your preferred method.
Remember that flushing is not always necessary and may not be suitable for all growing setups or circumstances. It's essential to research and understand the specific needs of your cannabis plants and adjust your cultivation practices accordingly.
